On April 1st, 2012, I was able to cross off my first list item when I went to the Juno Awards! It's also very fitting that I went with Lindsay. After all, this whole list was inspired by her "30 Things To Do While I'm 30" adventure last year. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery :)

Not every single item on my list is something I have never done before, and attending the Juno Awards is one of them. I went in Edmonton in 2004. However, there are some considerable differences between the two events. Firstly, I didn't get to drink beer the first time (thanks again to Lindsay for my ridiculously overpriced Heineken tallboy!!) Secondly, this Juno Awards was extra special, because it included the induction of Blue Rodeo in the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

Not remembering much from 2004, I think I was expecting something a lot more... Canadian. No muss, no fuss, no spectacle. I am happy to report that I was wrong! Gone are the days of Jann Arden and Bryan Adams. The whole thing was fiery (literally) and awesome. A good start to what will hopefully be a good list!!

I am very flattered that you've decided to take my idea and make it your own Lauren! If you have even half as much fun with your list as I did with mine last year I promise you will have the best year of your life! I'm glad I could be with you last night to scratch the first item off your list and I look forward to following your progress throughout the year. Have fun my young friend!! :D
